THE Dandenong Rangers announced Samantha Richards and Caitlin Ryan as the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) team’s co-captains at their launch at the Drum Theatre in Dandenong last week.
Richards, 25, and Ryan, 23, are considered veterans of the team and with that bring a wealth of experience and leadership skills.
Both Richards and Ryan have been cornerstones of the Rangers’ recent three grand final appearances and back-to-back championships, however the duo is aware that the loss of several key players during the off season means the team needs to refocus and regroup.
When asked about the appointment, both Richards and Ryan were thrilled.
“We are excited and thrilled about being named co-captains, and we are looking forward to the challenges,” they said.
The Rangers were also delighted to announce Channel Nine media commentator Nicole Livingstone as their number one ticket holder.
