SPRING Racing Carnival is the theme at Dandenong’s Walker Street Gallery this month.
Multiple award-winning artist Glenn Hoyle’s love of horses can be seen in many of his paintings, especially in the way the equine beauty is portrayed, enhancing the rural settings of the Australian countryside.
In his landscapes Mr Hoyle captures the timeless beauty of Victoria, magnificent seascapes and inspired scenes from his recent European trip.
Born in Lancashire, England, in 1951, Mr Hoyle studied at the Rochdale College of Art from 1966 to 1969.
After working as a commercial artist, he travelled extensively throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, and visited Australia in 1973.
Eventually he returned to live in Melbourne permanently in 1981.
Always willing to pass on his knowledge of art to others, Mr Hoyle has successfully conducted art classes at his studio since 1989.
Today his paintings are much sought after and are represented in private collections throughout Australia and overseas.
The exhibition will run until 27 November, and viewing times are 11am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and 11am to 3pm on Saturdays.
