GREATER Dandenong residents are being advised to be aware of bogus sales people.
The issue comes after several residents across Melbourne were being caught out by people claiming they are from organisations such as local councils. Greater Dandenong Council regulatory services manager Peter Shelton said residents must be very careful when agreeing to ‘on the spot’ fix-it jobs.
“Unfortunately this type of behaviour is not new, so we encourage residents to make sure the person selling a product or service is from a reputable company,” he said. “If they are from council or such reputable companies they will produce identification upon request.
