A DRUG-AFFECTED driver clipped a parked car, careered through a brick fence and ploughed into the bedroom where Leanne Donaldson slept about 12.30am on Monday.
“I heard a bang,” the Dandenong North woman said.
“Next thing I know there’s a set of headlights in my bedroom. It was quite scary.
“I was screaming. It was still revving and coming forward.”
Her friend Warren Barker ran outside the Brady Road home while she called Triple-zero.
“He put the park brake on, found the keys on the ground and the driver’s wallet,” she said.
“He gave it to the police when they arrived.
“He told him not to get out of the car.
“As soon as we saw him we knew that he was on something.”
Ms Donaldson said police were on the scene within minutes.
Dandenong Senior Constable Matt Lavery-Stephens said the driver, a Dandenong North man in his late 30s, was driving his father’s vehicle with expired registration at the time of the incident.
He’s been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on charges relating to traffic offences, including drug-affected driving.
The incident has thrown Ms Donaldson’s life into chaos and caused significant damage to her home.
“The guys have been able to board it up,” she said.
“It’s pretty much missing the whole corner and there are cracks throughout.
“The house is just covered in concrete dust.
“It’s been a stressful couple of days. It’s been really tiring.”
