THE Greater Dandenong Mayoral Charity Bowls Day rolled into action on Sunday with lawn bowlers from across the region competing for the Wal Turner Shield.
Teams in the elimination tournament included entries from Noble Park, Dandenong Club and Dandenong RSL.
Lance and Maureen Atwell, who live two hours away in Tarwin Lower, said they came down every year for the fours tournament.
“We love it and play in a team for Noble Park every year,” Maureen said.
“It’s a great tournament and the competition is tough.”
More than $140,000 has been donated to charity since the tournament’s inception 21 years ago.
