Ramada encore for Mario

By Glen Atwell
DANDENONG’S finest hotel, the Ramada Encore has a new general manager.
Mario Cugliandro has replaced Ed Davis in the top job and is excited about working in the Dandenong area.
He described the region as bursting with potential.
“With all the industry out here there is a lot of opportunity and many challenges,” he said.
Mr Cugliandro joins the Ramada Encore after leaving the Pacific International in Melbourne where he was employed as a business developer.
“My new role as general manager means I am not only looking to find business, but involved in the day-to-day running of the place,” he said.
“It means more responsibility and I enjoy that.”
The 39-year-old said cleanliness and convenience set the Ramada Encore apart from most other hotels.
“Other hotels have carpeted rooms, the Ramada is all floorboards. It really adds a hygiene factor,” he said.
“Our other advantage includes offering Broadband to our guests at no extra cost, it’s little things like that and it makes the difference.”
As discount accommodation Webster such as www.wotif.com and www.lastminute.com.au continue to drive customers into hotels, Mr Cugliandro said the Internet was becoming increasingly important to the industry.
“People now want to book their accommodation on-line,” he said.
Exiting general manager Mr Davis left the Ramada Encore to pursue a similar role at an RACV resort in Inverloch.
