Winning ways continue in pennant

SPRINGVALE North Tennis Club has continued its winning start to the Tennis Victoria Grade Two Pennant season with a three rubbers to one doubles victory against Kooyong on Sunday.
Stephen Sruk remains unbeaten this season, powering through his two doubles matches 6-2 3-6 6-0 and 6-2 6-4 when partnered with Henryk Pawlukowski.
Pawlukowski returned to the side after recovering from a knee injury, but the same injury flared again in the first rubber and severely restricted his movement for the rest of the day.
He will miss this Sunday’s singles match against Dendy Park.
Steven Nguyen and Trent Cobb lost their first match, but found some winning form to take the reverse rubber 2-6 7-5 6-3.
Zelko Lovric has been omitted from the singles line-up this weekend, but the hard-hitting David Fonseca, who has recovered from an ankle injury, is keen to make the most of his opportunity against the in-form Dendy Park.
