Flippin' good Dandenong Show

On a high: Whip Industries stunt bike riders will be up for aerial tricks at the Dandenong Show.

There’ll be plenty of highs in the highlights this weekend at the 141st annual Dandenong Show.

Whip Industries Mini Bike Stunts riders on ‘funky’ KLX110L bikes will contort themselves in aerial feats on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

There are contests with a difference, such as a farmyard-themed cake-decorating section to celebrate ‘Year of the Farmer’ and a hay-bale carting race using wheelbarrows.

Some of the events hark back to the region’s agricultural origins: hot-saws, woodchopping, livestock entries and cake displays.

Weather permitting, the traditional fireworks display will be held on Saturday night.

The show is at Greaves Reserve, Dandenong on Saturday from 9am-9pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm. Details: dandyshow.com.au or 9794 0562.
