Biggest Tea to help the big C

DANDENONG’S Chisholm Institute of TAFE showed its commitment to community and social responsibility by helping to raise $500 for cancer research.
The institute’s campuses, including Dandenong, held their versions of the Cancer Council Victoria fund raising event, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, on Friday, 25 May and collectively raised $500.
At the staff morning tea break, gold coin donations were collected from staff members.
Dandenong campus manager Pat Jones declared the morning tea a success.
“Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a very popular event and the money that we raise goes to the Cancer Council, which endeavours to provide a large per cent of these proceeds towards cancer research and support services such as the Cancer Council Hotline,” he said.
“The hotline also provides a service to cancer patients, their families and carers, as well as supporting Cancer Connect, which puts cancer patients in touch with survivors who are trained to provide emotional and social support.”
