Police, customs find drugs in Springvale, Clayton

Police and Australian Customs raids in Springvale and Clayton found large quantities of a medication used to make illicit drugs.

Officers descended on nine locations last Wednesday and found large amounts of ContacNT, an over-the-counter Chinese medication containing pseudoephedrine that can be used to make speed and ice.

Nine Chinese nationals were arrested and six people were detained by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Police believe the drugs were imported using international mail and cargo.
