Girl escapes Dandenong abduction attempt

A teenage girl escaped possible abduction as she walked near her Dandenong school.

Police said a man approached her about 7.15am on June 26 as she walked near St John’s Regional College.

He got out of a late-1990s white Toyota sedan, asked where she was going, tried to grab her and then made threatening remarks.

Detective Shane Pola of Greater Dandenong crime investigation unit said police regarded the incident as an attempted abduction.

The teenager has said she didn’t know the man.

The man is described as tall, aged 20-30, and possibly of Anglo-Indian descent. He had black hair and a goatee.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000.
