Dandenong man slashed at club

A 27 YEAR old Dandenong man bled profusely after his face was slashed by a beer glass at a gentleman’s club in Melbourne’s CBD last Sunday morning.

Detective Senior Constable Toby Dernelley of Melbourne CIU said the man got in a ‘‘bit of a scuffle’’ with another patron at Goldfingers in Lonsdale Street when he was hit by the glass.

The glass caused a ‘‘small laceration to the head’’, nicking an artery which caused a ‘‘large amount of bleeding’’, Detective Senior Constable Dernelley said.

The man was set to undergo surgery in hospital yesterday.

It was not clear if the glassing was a deliberate act or if the glass was smashed as part of the ‘‘push and shove’’, Detective Senior Constable Dernelley said.

Police wish to speak to a man in his 20s, about 183 centimetres, medium build and Caucasian about the incident.
