Business to discuss social responsibility

THE importance of corporate social responsibility will be the theme of a Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce (GDCC) networking evening at the Ramada Encore Hotel next week.
The chamber has recognised the benefits of being a good corporate citizen, and in conjunction with the council will be launching a community development and mentoring program.
GDCC executive officer Deanne Johnson said Macpherson and Kelley Lawyers was one of the local business that recognised the benefits of corporate social responsibility.
“Members of their senior management group will be highlighting at the evening how they are adopting these practices and how it is beneficial to both the community and business,” she said.
Paul Streefkerk from the City Of Greater Dandenong will also discuss the benefits for businesses to be involved in the arts.
The GDCC is inviting all members to a free networking night at the Ramada Encore on Thursday, 29 September from 6pm to 7.30pm.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet up with other chamber members, enjoy some light refreshments and swap business cards and ideas,” Ms Johnson said.
Numbers are limited, so contact Deanne Johnson on 9794 8881, fax 9706 9543 or greaterdandychamberbigpond.com to book a place.
The Ramada is at 5052 McCrae Street, Dandenong.
