Battle for Isaacs is on

Candidates for the two major political parties have been announced for the seat of Isaacs.
The seat covers a large portion of Greater Dandenong, with an emphasis on residential and industrial area south of the Princes Highway, but also includes part of Noble Park. Unlike the State Election, where Greater Dandenong’s Labor-dominated seats are held by margins as high as 20 per cent, Isaacs is held by Labor with only a 1.6 per cent margin, making it one of the most marginal seats at this year’s Federal Election. Sitting MP Ann Corcoran will not run at this year’s Federal Election after she was defeated at a party preselection by barrister and Queen’s Counsellor Mark Dreyfus. Mr Dreyfus is Labor’s candidate, and will battle for the seat against Liberal opponent Ross Fox. Star asked each candidate eight basic questions so Greater Dandenong residents within the electorate can learn more about the two major party candidates.
More information will be provided on minor party candidates as announcements come to light.
