Car smashes into house

AN EARLY morning wake-up call was given to a Springvale family after an out-of-control car slammed into its house this week.
A Holden Commodore left the road at the corner of Heatherton Road and Frances Street in Springvale South and slammed into the front of the house, which was on the corner, about 2.45am on Sunday.
Firefighters, police, State Emergency Service and City of Greater Dandenong building inspectors were called to the early morning crash to help stabilise and inspect the severely damaged structure.
Paramedics arrived to inspect the male driver, who was then taken by police for questioning.
The Holden Commodore struck the front corner of the house shifting the dining room’s front wall nearly half a metre.
Firefighters said the family was asleep at the time of the incident.
Dandenong Country Fire Authority installed temporary props on the house to ensure the structure did not collapse when the vehicle was towed away.
SES crews then continued to reinforce the building and provide on-scene lighting.
Springvale and Noble Park Country Fire Authorities also attended.
The family was shocked by the incident, but not injured.
