SINGER and songwriter John Schumann is bringing his band The Vagabond Crew for a one-night only event at the Drum Theatre this week.
John Schumann holds a distinguished place in the Australian music industry, best known for his leadership of the legendary folk-rock band, Redgum, and his Vietnam veterans’ anthem I Was Only 19.
In a time of political and social flux, Schumann’s lyrics pull no punches and speak directly about the issues at hand. His songs capture the heart and soul of his audience with his true-to-life lyrical tones.
Rock historian Glenn A Baker described Schumann as one of the finest songwriters Australia has produced.
His lyrics are on reading lists in schools, colleges and universities throughout Australia.
The Vagabond Crew features Hugh McDonald, Broderick Smith, Kat Kraus, Shannon Bourne, Dave Folley and Sam Willoughby.
John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew will perform at The Drum Theatre at 8pm on Friday 2 November.
