Band blows in with old hits

The City of Greater Dandenong Band.

SATURDAY Night Brass is on its way to Springvale Town Hall.
City of Greater Dandenong Band will perform the cabaret on Saturday 26 July.
The show will featuring hits from the 1960s and 1970s and showcase the band’s musicianship and versatility.
The evening is becoming a much-loved annual tradition for the band and its audience, with previous instalments including Gold Class Brass, Around the World in 80 Tunes, and The Sound of Musicals.
The band’s musical director Michael Mathers said the event was getting bigger and more spectacular every year and was a wonderful opportunity for the band to perform live in a light-hearted, engaging atmosphere.
Saturday Night Brass! will feature the music of Queen, Elvis, Stevie Wonder, ABBA, The Beatles and more.
“It is sure to delight not only those who love the sound of a big brass band, but anyone who loves and enjoys the music of the ’60s and ’70s,” Mr Mathers said.
“We absolutely love performing live music. It’s why most of us took up playing in the first place.
“To be able to represent and entertain our community at the same time is a great joy and something we hope the members of the public will be as proud of as we are.”
The band regularly performs throughout the City of Greater Dandenong on occasions including Australia Day, Anzac Day and the Dandenong Carols by Candlelight.
