Plaza reviews risk

GPT GROUP, which manages Dandenong Plaza, has reviewed the risk levels for all its sites following the shooting last week of a teenage terror suspect.
The suspect, Numan Haider, had been seen at the plaza in the days before his death with an Islamic flag.
GPT marketing and operations co-ordinator Ebony Fahey sent out a letter on Friday confirming the group had “reviewed risk levels for all sites and is implementing changes in line with our counter-terrorism procedures and guidance from relevant authorities and industry bodies”.
“We have taken the upgrade seriously and we are committed to the ongoing safety of all our tenants and guests.”
She said the review also coincided with the recent change in the National Terrorism Public Alert Level to high.
The letter asks traders and staff to display visible identification at all times in restricted areas; report any lost or misplaced access cards; not to provide access to people without valid access passes (ie not tailgating) and report any suspicious items or behaviours to security.
