ELEVEN students at Springvale Secondary College have received scholarships for further study.
Harry Ta, 18, and Anthony Chea each received two awards – Dafydd Lewis scholarships and Monash scholarships.
Mr Ta is studying science and engineering while Mr Chea is studying commerce and engineering.
Peter Li and Mala Prum have both received Commonwealth Education scholarships.
Catherine Tran, Barry Tang, Jenny Wang and Binh Li received Monash scholarships.
Lyhor Ung received a scholarship from the University of Melbourne.
Two students from disadvantaged backgrounds have had Skyline scholarships for their last two years of schooling.
Riak Puot, 20, has a David Burgess Foundation scholarship which is awarded to students who have worked hard to overcome significant adversities.
Mr Puot will receive yearly support for his studies in building and construction.
Springvale Secondary College student welfare officer Rosa Dias Santhilano said the school has a strong focus on access and equity.
“The number of scholarships reflects on the dedication of the teachers who encourage the students to persevere through Year 12 and the students themselves for their tenacity and hard work,” Mrs Santhilano said.
