Good health, for starters

By Shaun Inguanzo
STUDENTS at Coo-moora Primary School in Springvale South have been learning about making smart choices and having a drug-free future.
The Life Education Van, run by the non-profit organisation of the same name, employs qualified teachers to visit schools annually and guide students through the program.
Coomoora Primary School teacher Linda Brodie said the van taught students about how to lead a healthy lifestyle.
“It motivates and encourages children and young people to make smart choices for a healthy future free of drugs and alcohol,” she said.
“It provides an age appropriate program for students from grades prep to six.
“Themes include healthy eating, personal safety, developing a positive self image and drug prevention.”
This week the school ended the term for an Easter break with a healthy breakfast, and a visit from Life Education mascot Harold the Giraffe.
