Australia Day nominations call

GREATER Dandenong residents have been urged to put in nominations for the upcoming Australia Day awards.
The award categories are Senior Citizen, Junior Citizen, Non Resident and Community Event of the Year.
Greater Dandenong Australia Day Committee chairman Alan Collier said it would be a great chance for the community to say thank you to the hardworking volunteers in the area.
“These are the people who work for the community, never expecting any payment or reward, and make our community a great place to live,” Mr Collier said.
The committee is also looking for community groups which want to hold a stall either selling food or promoting their activities. Mr Collier said the committee was also looking for groups which wanted to be involved in the street parade or be part of the entertainment on the day.
