THE City of Greater Dandenong and Victoria Police are teaming up to host a forum on public safety next Tuesday in Springvale as part of Community Safety month.
District Inspector Tom Rawlings said the forum would allow police to explain key points of the Dandenong Community Safety Plan and discuss some of the alternative policing used such as mounted police patrols through the Springvale and Dandenong central business districts.
“We want to tell (the community) about what we are doing to prevent crime and road trauma at a local level, and further promote the changes we have already made that have led to a safer environment for all,” he said.
“We are very keen to attract as many people as we can to this forum from all walks of life,” Insp Rawlings said.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to keep you informed and to draw on current community perceptions and expectations.”
The forum, to be held at Springvale Town Hall, will begin at 7pm and finish at 8.30pm.
