STUDENTS at a Dandenong secondary college have been learning the hula hoop as part of a program to learn about a variety of different sports.
Year 10 girls at St John’s Regional College received instruction in hula hooping from Funfit Junior Fitness director Erin Nicholson last week.
Ms Nicholson spent over an hour teaching students how to use various body parts to swing the hoops around, including their necks.
The students learned about how balance and body control was needed to keep the hoops swinging.
The Year 10 sport program lets students experience a wide range of activities, and broaden their knowledge and skills in various sports.
