NOBLE Park’s Trewint aged care home will receive a $17 million makeover beginning next year.
Uniting Aged Care Victoria and Tasmania (UACVT) announced it would invest the money into the facility with minimal disruption to clients.
UACVT executive director Robyn Batten hailed the development as a positive step forward for Trewint.
“A modern, state-of-the-art facility will enable us to provide the best possible care and range of services,” Ms Batten said.
Ms Batten said the new facility will be designed so that it offers residents and clients a comfortable spacious environment and assist professionals in the delivery of quality care and services to residents and clients.
“Residents will be able to remain in the current facility until the new buildings are constructed. They would then be transferred into the new premises,” she said.
Ms Batten said Trewint would continue offering therapy services and respite support programs during the redevelopment. “These services will temporarily relocate during the construction of the new premises,” she said.
She said staff, clients, residents and their families have been informed that the redevelopment will proceed and that they will work to ensure minimum disruption while keeping them informed of the progress.
