POLICE began doorknocking homes in Doveton and Springvale South on Friday for information on the unsolved murder of teenager Cayleb Hough.
The remains of the 17-year-old from Chelsea Heights were found in a shallow mineshaft in Lererderg State Park, Bacchus Marsh, on 10 Marsh.
Missing Persons Squad investigators are seeking public information on a pair of runners and a mobile phone that may be significant to the case.
They believe the pair of black Adidas high tops and Samsung mobile phone were discarded from a taxi between Harold, Springvale, Patterson and Darren roads, Springvale South, on Monday 21 December 2015 between 10-11.30pm.
Police believe the items were found by a member of the public who were unaware of the items’ significance.
Investigators will also be showing residents in Doveton a picture of Cayleb and the vehicle he was last seen in – a blue 2003 Ford Falcon XR6 sedan with registration SOG 812.
