Unite Alliance members receive their award.

A DANDENONG youth advocacy group has won a state award.
Unite Alliance Program claimed the Group Achievement in the Community Award at the Victorian Youth Achiever Awards.
It was among 11 awards presented in front of more than 500 guests at a gala event at Atlantic Group on Friday 6 May.
The category winners each received a $1000 Bartercard Account plus $1000 into an account in their name from Bank of Melbourne.
City of Greater Dandenong Youth Services and headspace partner in Unite Alliance, open to all people aged between 14 and 21.
It creates a platform for young people of all gender identities to advocate for human rights and equality while providing support for those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer.
Unite Alliance meets weekly in Dandenong and has developed awareness campaigns to tackle homophobia and discrimination, including the Day of Action and It Starts With Us Project.
The Day of Action aims to reduce discrimination, bullying and harmful stereotypes through peer-developed interactive and educational workshops.
