FREE entertainment for shoppers will feature on the streets of Central Dandenong in the days leading up to Christmas.
The Dandenong Retail Traders’ Association has organised street entertainment between 11am and 1pm, with support from the City of Greater Dandenong.
“This annual entertainment has proven very popular with shoppers as they go about their Christmas shopping,” association chairman Roy Aspinall said.
A variety of events will thrill the young and young at heart from Friday 19 December to Tuesday 23 December, barring Sunday.
Santa will rove the market with lollies, greeting all the boys and girls, between 10am and 3pm on 6, 13, 20 and 23 December and between 10am and 2pm on 9, 12, 16 and 19 December.
Another major Christmas event in Central Dandenong is the Carols by Candlelight in Dandenong Park, Pultney Street, on Friday December 19, commencing at 6pm.
Celebrating its 62nd year, the event was originally a thankyou from the traders to the people of Dandenong for supporting them throughout the year.
“Great entertainment will make Central Dandenong a super place to shop, and it will be a Christmas delight,” Mr Aspinall said.
