A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been charged over a hit-and-run that killed a man in Dandenong last week.
Sri Lankan refugee Thiruvadivel Sriskantharajah died after he was hit by a four-wheel-drive while crossing Stud Road at traffic lights at 8.45am on Wednesday.
Police said the driver drove on after hitting Mr Sriskantharajah and failed to stop and call for help.
Police arrested the man two hours later in Huntingdale Road and seized his car.
The Fern Tree Gully driver has been charged with failing to stop at an accident causing death and failing to render assistance at an accident causing death.
Police expect to lay further charges.
