Dandenong will host a youth forum to help shape future government decisions.
It will be among a handful run across the state later this year, starting with Swan Hill on Wednesday 21 September.
Youth Affairs Minister Jenny Mikakos announced the events on International Youth Day, Friday 12 August.
They’ll shape the agenda for the inaugural youth summit to be held during National Youth Week next year.
Young people will discuss the issues that matter most to them and elect regional representatives to the Victorian Youth Congress, which will advise the government on priority youth issues.
“These forums are great opportunities for young Victorians to have their say over the issues that matter to them,” she said.
“They have great ideas, and they deserve to be heard.
“Today’s young Victorians are tomorrow’s leaders.
“It’s more important now than ever that they’re embedded in the decision-making process.”
