SOUTH-EAST export businesses are reminded it is time to apply for the 2009 Governor of Victoria Export Awards.
South Eastern Region MP Gordon Rich-Phillips encouraged the region’s leading export businesses to apply.
“Export is a vital part of the local economy and in times of economic hardship we need to be supporting and encouraging those who bring wealth into the region by putting local innovation and skills in a global market,” said Mr Rich-Phillips. He said it was an opportunity for businesses and individuals in the region, who are doing exceptional things in export, to attract the recognition they deserve.
“The award acknowledges individuals, companies and businesses achieving great results such as those involved in the exportation of products from agribusiness, arts and entertainment, education and training, information and communication technologies, manufacturing and minerals, energy and many others.”
Mr Rich-Phillips said successful awardees will not only gain recognition and worthwhile publicity but also provide encouragement to other exporters in the region.
The 2009 awards program commenced on Monday 4 May and the application period is open until Friday 17 July. Companies should apply online at www.export.vic.gov.au/awards.
