THE son of Dandenong businessman Bruce Parker has died after scaling the world’s fifth highest peak without oxygen.
Mick Parker, 36, of Warrandyte, reached the summit of the 8462m Makalu in Nepal on 21 May before fighting his way back to Kathmandu.
After blacking out several times during the journey, Mr Parker died on Thursday.
His father was unavailable for comment on Tuesday, as he was on his way home from Nepal.
