Family back on board

A FLOWERDALE family left with only the clothes on their backs after Black Saturday, can again have the wind on their faces.
Dandenong’s New World Honda Marine has teamed up with insurance provider Club Marine to replace the O’Halloran family’s boat that was destroyed by the fires.
David O’Halloran said the new boat would play a significant role in the family’s recovery process.
“I’d taken our five-year-old on our first ‘father-son’ camping trip over Christmas, then just a few weeks later the fires completely changed our lives,” Mr O’Halloran said.
“The young bloke has been nagging me since to take him fishing again … it’s just far too much for a young child to comprehend that we’d lost everything.
“Thanks to all involved, we plan to take our new boat to Lake Eildon or the Western Lakes in the next few weeks and hopefully catch a few trout.”
