FLAGS were at half mast last Thursday in recognition of the passing of former mayor Robert Kidman Wagstaff, known more prominently as Peter Wagstaff.
Mr Wagstaff was born on 30 April, 1921, in Dimboola, and died on 7 November in Frankston.
He was the mayor of the City of Dandenong from 1967 to 1968 and served as a councillor for 10 years.
Silverleaf Ward councillor John Kelly said Mr Wagstaff would be remembered for his commitment to the area.
“He was a very community-minded man,” Cr Kelly said.
“He was very involved and highly respected.”
