RSL members, their children and great grandchildren enjoyed the Christmas event at the Dandenong RSL carpark, organised by committee member Bill Knight and his band of willing helpers.
Father Christmas made a special visit via police car, and handed out gifts to the hundreds of children who attended.
“There were more than 500 kids there plus more than 300 adults,” Dandenong RSL’s John Filmore said.
“Presents were given to every single child and no charge.”
Mr Filmore said the event had been an annual tradition for more than a decade and credited Mr Knight for his efforts.
“Bill certainly goes through extraordinary lengths, effort and time to make sure this terrific party for the kids is a success,” he said.
“Everyone had a great time.”
