A Noble Park performer will rock out in a musical with a difference.

Joshua Aiello will take to the Bunjil Place Theatre stage as an ensemble member in the Windmill Theatre Company production of We Will Rock You.

“It’s more of a rock concert with a story line than a classic musical theatre show,” he said.

“It’s going to be a great spectacle visually and musically.”

Ben Elton wrote the futuristic story with inspiration from classic Queen tracks, including We Are the Champions, I Want It All, Another One Bites the Dust and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Mr Aiello, 24, said this show was a way for him to “get back into the swing of things”.

“It had been a really long time since I had been on the stage as a performer,” he said.

“My life for the last few years has been spent as the audio operator of the shows as my paid job, and it was killing me always seeing others performing.

“Then last year I had my year of booking auditions and cancelling them last minute, or getting the call back and pretty much securing the role and then withdrawing out of fear and anxiety.”

Mr Aiello has been involved in community theatre on and off for a few years.

“Most of my time was spent working on the shows as a tech, rather than an actor,” he said.

“I have instead been pursuing my love for screen acting and my own song writing endeavours.

“I had been involved in a few commercials and had a small part on Neighbours at one point.

“I am hoping that one day I’ll be able to be a part of a professional show on Melbourne’s East End.”

We Will Rock You will hit the stage in Narre Warren at 8pm on 9, 10, 15, 16, 22 and 23 June, and 2pm on 16, 17 and 24 June.

The show runs for 160 minutes, including interval.

Tickets are $38 for children, $42 concession and $47 for adults. A family ticket for two adults and two children is $160.
