Real snow – trucked in from the ski-fields – is set to fall again on Springvale’s streets.
More than 80,000 tonnes of the white stuff from Mt Buller will land at the sixth annual Springvale Snow Fest on 29 July.
As well as snow play areas, the street festival will be abuzz with husky dogs, ice sculpting, live performances, food stalls, a silent igloo disco and roving entertainers.
It is expected to attract a crowd of more than 40,000 through the day – capped with a fireworks finale.
Special guests this year are Olympian alpine skier Emily Bamford – who made her Games debut at Sochi in 2014 – and The Voice 2016 runner-up Adam Ladell.
Ladell will perform with Emerson School students on the main stage at 12.45pm.
Given the expected crowds, visitors are advised to consider public transport via the nearby railway station.
Free parking is also available at number 8 multi-deck car park on Balmoral Avenue and outside Springvale Town Hall.
Roads will be closed at Windsor, Buckingham and Balmoral avenues.
