New home for child support

THE recently relocated Dandenong Child Support Agency (CSA) was officially opened on Tuesday.
Late last year the CSA made the move from its former office, at 280 Thomas Street, to a larger premise at 76 Thomas Street.
Bruce MP Alan Griffin, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Personnel had the honour of opening the building and said he welcomed the new office.
“The new Dandenong office is in a convenient location for people who need to visit the Child Support Agency,” he said.
“The Child Support Agency provides an important service. Having improved office facilities is good for our staff and for our community.”
CSA Dandenong Operations Manager Stephen Brecely said the new office location continued to provide a face-to -face access for separated parents.
“The Dandenong office has always received a high number of visits from customers and the new office continues to provide this valuable service. If contacting us by telephone is not preferred, customers can talk to our staff about their child support matters by simply coming in at any time during out office opening hours,” he said.
Mr Brecely said the office was a key part of the revitalisation of the Dandenong area.
“(The office) is only a short walking distance from the central business district of Dandenong,” he said.
“We also remain close to other key government stakeholders, making it more convenient for some customers to manage a range of matters and receive a more streamlined service.”
The CSA office is open from 8.30am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday for face-to-face customer service without an appointment.
Dandenong customers are encouraged to contact the CSA on 13 12 72 if they have a specific issue they wish to discuss with a customer service officer.
Alternatively, they can visit www.csa.gov.au to register to use CSAonline, a new service that will enable customers to update their personal details and communicate with staff.
