The Bulls, who missed the finals in 2009 on the back of a tumultuous season, capped a brilliant finals campaign by overpowering the minor premier Magpies in the final term of Saturday’s decider.
First-year Bulls coach Mick Fogarty, a former premiership player at Moodemere Street, was hailed as one of the key architects of the club’s rapid revival.
It was Noble Park’s third Eastern league premiership and went some way towards erasing the memories of a gut-wrenching loss to Vermont in the 2007 grand final.
Mid-season recruit Andrew McConnell was named best-on-ground, having helped to guide the Bulls back from an early deficit.
The party raged on at the Noble Park Football Social Club – known locally as the Bullring – across the weekend, with players and officials already plotting the club’s tilt at back-to-back flags.
Turn to pages 56 and 57 for full coverage of the Bulls’ big day.
