Man set on fire

A MAN suffered serious burns when he was set alight after a domestic confrontation on the weekend.
The man in his 40s had an argument with a younger woman at a house in Hutton Street, Dandenong, about 3am on Sunday 3 April.
Police said the woman, aged in her 20s, splashed the man with an accelerant and then set him alight.
The man managed to call Triple-Zero and police were the first on the scene but the woman had fled.
Officers administered first aid in the front yard of the house until ambulance and CFA crews arrived.
The man suffered third degree burns to more than 30 per cent of his body, particularly his head and upper body
He was placed in an induced coma at The Alfred hospital.
The woman has been charged with attempted murder and was remanded in custody to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
