SOUTH East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance (SEMMA) and Wallara Industries have banded together to give a small business owner the break she craved.
SEMMA needed a ‘classy’ and locally made product for showbags for the Manufacturing Hall of Fame dinner and a chance encounter with a fan of Denu made all the difference.
Denu founder Sarah Fisher said a friend was speaking with someone from SEMMA and recommended her body lotion.
It got the ball rolling to have included in the showbags.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’m really chuffed,” Ms Fisher said.
Because Denu is still a small business, Ms Fisher needed some extra hands to box the lotions ready for the showbags and thankfully Wallara Industries jumped on board.
Wallara business development officer Warren Kemp quickly gathered a supervisor and team of 10 people with a disability to help.
“They required a solution, very quickly to make up the boxes from flat into the beautiful presentation pack,” Mr Kemp said. “Everybody worked very hard together to quickly provide SEMMA with a wonderful gift.”
Ms Fisher said their help was invaluable. “We’ve put together something that’s really beautiful,” she said.
“They’ve done a super job and are a great organisation.”
With the help of Wallara, Denu’s body lotion will be presented in the showbags and Ms Fisher will also provide a door prize for the event.
Denu is based in Berwick and makes a range of natural lotions with all local ingredients.
