A TAXI driver was robbed at knife-point but refused to hand over his car keys in an armed robbery in Dandenong on Monday afternoon.
The Endeavour Hills driver, 40, responded to a call to Hemmings Street Dandenong at 4pm on Monday 13 June and when he arrived, one male took the front passenger seat and the other stood at the driver’s side window.
The man in the taxi took out a knife and threatened the driver, demanding cash.
Although a substantial amount of cash was handed over, police said the offenders were not satisfied and demanded the keys to the taxi.
When the driver refused, the man with the knife jumped out of the car and both men ran east along Hemmings Street.
The taxi driver was not injured in the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Dandenong Embona Taskforce on 9767 7618 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
