Thieves’ chicken coup

POLICE are looking for witnesses after thieves broke into the Charcoal Chicken shop in Dandenong last week.
The burglary happened between 11.10pm on 28 November and 1.50am on 29 November at the Princes Highway food outlet.
Police said offenders broke in by removing tiles and cutting a hole in the ceiling and stole the $150 float from the till before leaving through the front door. Police are appealing for an anonymous passer-by who called 000 at about 2am saying that the front door was open.

PET store owners are appealing for the return of their beloved cockatoo after thieves stole snakes and other animals from the Dandenong store. The 40-year-old cockatoo, Cocky, stolen from Living Jungle on Princes Highway, is tame and speaks and owners say he holds a large amount of sentimental value.
Police said thieves forced entry through the front door, smashing display windows and stealing $100 from the float as well as the animals.
Three maltese cross shih tzus and a Jack Russell, all eight-weeks-old, three carpet pythons, a turtle, a few display stands and three fish tanks were also stolen.
The thefts happened between 5.45pm on Thursday, 1 December and 8.30am on Friday 2, December.
