TATIANA Devendranath is a proud mathlete.
This year, the 16-year-old Keysborough girl competed in the Australian Maths Challenge on behalf of Haileybury College.
She was also the Victorian ambassador for the online maths competition.
“The idea is to answer as many questions as you can in 60 seconds,” she said.
Nearly 250,000 students competed in the challenge last week.
The online mathletics competition attracts students from all over Australia each year.
Students with a range of abilities and interests were invited to apply.
“It’s fun and it’s just a mental thing. It’s very competitive and speed is important,” she said.
More than 3800 schools took part in the challenge.
Students logged on last Tuesday and Wednesday to earn points for their school.
