GREYHOUND fans will soon be able to see the results clearer and get to the races easier.
Racing Minister Denis Napthine announced a $204,000 investment to install a new results board for the Sandown greyhound track and a special community bus service, offered through the Raceday Attraction Program.
The State Government has contributed $70,000 for the new result board and $60,000 to provide raceday buses for local community groups and sporting clubs.
Greyhound Racing Victoria provided the remaining $134,000 needed to install the board.
“The $204,000 package will see a brand new results board installed to improve sightlines for patrons and television broadcasts,” Dr Napthine said.
“Sandown’s initiative (raceday buses) alone could deliver an extra 7200 people to the races over the 27 weeks of the program.”
The funding will also include an overhaul of the timing system and new broadcast cameras.
