A DANDENONG disability support centre went home with a win from a greyhound race last week.
The randomly selected greyhound, Godsend, finished second in the Great Chase Grand Final at The Meadows to win The Hub Support Options $2500.
The facility was one of 150 Victorian disability groups to be allocated a greyhound for the three week community series.
The Hub took home $500 after Godsend won a heat at Cranbourne on 7 November and a further $2000 when he came second in last Wednesday’s race.
Phil Newman, Care Manager at The Hub Support Options, was there. “This is an enormous thrill,” he said.

“This is an enormous thrill,” Mr Newman said.
“He’s a beautiful dog and it is a real party atmosphere here today.
“We will now chat to our clients about how we will spend our money.”
Godsend’s trainer Jason Thompson said he was delighted to be involved in the series.
“It was very pleasing to run second in such a big race,” he said.
“It’s great that Godsend was able to win a decent sum of money for The Hub Support Options.”
The Hub Support Options provides daytime disability support services including life skills training, personal development and pre-employment training.
