Road widens for bus lane

A SECTION of Cheltenham Road in Keysborough will be widened to allow for a bus lane on a busy section of the road.
The road will be widened between Springvale Road and Fiveways Boulevard for the bus lane.
The works will also include an extra right hand turn lane into Springvale Road, and an extension of the left turn slip lane from Springvale Road into Cheltenham Road.
VicRoads approached the City of Greater Dandenong to amend its planning scheme to allow the works to go ahead.
The amendment included a land acquisition overlay, as sections of privately owned land were required to enable the road to be widened.
Only one landowner objected to the proposal. The objection was later withdrawn.
