THE Southern Veterans Cycling Club has taken over Sandown Park Racecourse, holding twilight meetings on a track normally reserved for high-powered V8 cars.
Swapping petrol for pedals, the group of more than 170 riders competes on the track Monday evenings in several competition grades.
The cycling club is open to males over 35 years and females over 30 years, and the group compete across the south eastern suburbs.
A broad range of abilities, from beginners to professionals, are welcome, with grades from A to G ensuring no-one is left too far behind the pack.
All membership inquires can be directed to club captain Pat Ruys on 9548 0280.
