THE driver of a stolen car abandoned the vehicle after it crashed, leaving a woman passenger trapped in Dandenong on 30 December.
Dandenong Country Fire Authority officer Peter Lucas and his crew came across the smashed car on Heatherton Road near Woodlee Street, Dandenong, while driving in the area.
The car, a cream Mazda 626 sedan, had collided with a power pole, trapping the passenger.
The driver had left from the scene.
Police said the car had been stolen from the Brandon Park Shopping Centre in Mulgrave about 5.30pm on Thursday, 29 December.
Dandenong Rescue responded for the extrication and police and ambulance officers also attended the scene.
The car was recovered and towed and the owner was notified.
