Brigades from Dandenong and Hallam attended a property in Ferndale Crescent, Dandenong North, on Tuesday evening.
The single-storey brick veneer house was “well alight”, according to CFA crews on scene, and a Ford sedan in the driveway was also destroyed in the blaze.
A CFA fire investigator is examining the case.
