Fur fun at cat show

NOBLE Park North resident Ashleigh Parfuss says her beloved cats can be bossy but she wouldn’t have them any other way.
This weekend, Ms Parfuss’s elegant felines will be on display when one of the state’s largest cat shows arrives in Noble Park.
The Feline Control Council of Victoria (FCC) is organising the event at Carwatha Community Centre this Sunday, 26 March.
FCC spokeswoman Sandra Ford called for all residents with a curiosity for cats to pop down to the show and check out more than 250 carefully groomed cats and kittens.
Ms Parfuss, whose Siamese cat Legolas won second prize at the Wallan cat show last week, said she was a rookie to the cat show circuit, with only two years’ experience under her belt.
“We bought our cat from a breeder who showed cats so we decided to give it a try and I have loved it ever since,” she said.
She said members of the public could take the opportunity to investigate the variety of breeds on offer if planning to purchase a cat, speak to breeders, and purchase cat-related products.
The FCC Cat Show will take place between 10am and 4pm at the centre in 43-81 Browns Road.
